How do I use the tool?
It's simple!
- Drag and drop your image file onto the designated area, or click the button to select a file from your device.
- Choose your desired optimization settings (like quality level or output format, depending on the input file type).
- Click the "Optimize Image" button.
- Preview the result and click the "Download" button to save the optimized image.
-
What do the optimization options mean (Quality, Level, Format)?
- Level (1-3): Controls how aggressively SVG Optimizer removes data. Level 1 is basic cleanup, Level 3 is more aggressive (potentially smaller file, slight risk of visual change if SVG is very complex). Level 2 is recommended.
- GIF Level (O1-O3): Controls Gif Optimizer's optimization level. O3 is the strongest (usually best file size reduction). Note: GIF optimization might alter or remove animation.
- Quality (1-100): For JPEG and WebP output. Lower quality means smaller file size but more visual data loss. 80 is often a good starting balance. This option is not available for PNG compression.
- Output Format: For JPG, PNG, and WebP inputs, you can choose to keep the original format or convert the optimized image to JPEG, PNG, or WebP. This option is not available for SVG and GIF inputs.

Why optimize images for the web?
Smaller image files mean faster website loading times. This improves user experience (visitors don't like waiting!), reduces bounce rates, saves bandwidth for you and your visitors, and can positively impact your website's SEO ranking as page speed is a ranking factor.
-
What happens to animated GIFs?
Our GIF image optimizer is great for reducing file size. However, depending on the optimization level and the GIF's structure, the process might simplify or even remove the animation. Always preview the result.
-
Why can't I change the output format for SVG or GIF?
SVG is a vector format, and GIF has unique animation/palette features. Converting them accurately to standard raster formats (like JPG/PNG) while preserving their core characteristics (scalability for SVG, animation for GIF) isn't the primary goal of this optimization tool. We keep them in their original format. You can convert JPG/PNG/WebP between each other or to WebP.
